Horses have long been seen as sacred animals in Irish paganism. Evidence shows the presence of horses in Ireland as far back as 3000 BCE and we know that during the Celtic period they played an important role (O hOgain, 2006). Horses were a status symbol, a very practical means of transportation, work animals, and also served in warfare, the Irish fighting mounted and with chariots. Many Irish Gods are associated with horses, including…
Old Dog, New Tricks
I have been reading tarot since 1995. That’s quite a while. My first deck was the Dragon Tarot. I then purchased a copy of the Rider-Waite for Walter’s class, followed by my Thoth deck, which I picked up on Walter and Jack’s recommendations and wasn’t able to make sense of for several years. I learned […]![]()
just doing some reflecting
I’ve noticed a slight change in my attitude after my job change. Maybe because it’s not as cutthroat as the previous place of employment, or that the reminder if dealing with the public had made me temper my words. I even jokingly call myself “St Shae”! Whatever it is, I like that I no longer […]

Book review – Tvaer Galdraskraedur or Two Icelandic Books of Magic
I haven’t done a book review in a while, so I thought it was time to offer one. I recently read Tvaer Galdraskraedur or Two Icelandic Books of Magic, a book offered by Strandagaldr (Icelandic Musuem of Sorcery and Witchcraft). Since I very much enjoyed it I thought it would be a good choice to review.
Precision and Links
I came across this transcript on Spiral Nature (because Psyche tweeted it). It talks about magical precision, and I thought that was interesting, because I try to be as precise as possible with my magical work. The question came up because someone was having trouble localizing the effects of their spells. They would do a […]![]()
Fun with Novel Writing
Just thought I’d share: I participated in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) for the first time last November and wrote an urban fantasy novel. After a few friends read it and encouraged me to publish it I decided to go ahead and go for it. I’d been editing and revising it but, in attempting to get one of the NaNo prizes – a free hardcover – I appear to have just accidentally published my novel on Lulu. Ummm. Oops? LOL So here it is – my first ever novel http://www.lulu.com/shop/morgan-daimler/murder-between-the-worlds/paperback/product-21381405.html
New Beginning
When I was a child, we didn’t have much of a New Year’s tradition. My parents let me stay up late and there was usually a tray of veggies, crackers, and cheeses. Being from New York, my parents watched the Ball drop on tv and then called it a night. On New Year’s Day we […]![]()
A Green Witch’s Textile Art and Love of Dyes
A few days ago while skimming through my normal routs for anything related to herbs, herb dye and plant textiles (all of which I utilize on a spiritual level for my charm and talisman work as a practitioner of folk arts and agrarian magic) I ran across a wonderful variety of blogs both old and new that have other pagan plant-textile enthusiasts and even one recent article in…
