Create a Grimoire /Book of Shadows

Interested in creating your own Grimoire/Book of Shadows?

Lots of Pagans choose to do so, and sadly, lots of websites/stores know that and get ya with the prices. Just because you spent a bit of money on it, doesn’t make it any more powerful or important.

So, think about what you want to include.

Binding?

Is a simple three ring binder something that you’ll use? Do you want to do something a little more fancy? Once you’ve decided, do a quick price comparison. The supplies that you find on the occult site are going to be a bit pricier than those that you find on a scrap booking site.

Also, color schemes come and go with the season, check the local Walmart, Target, Sams Club, and Crafting stores in your area. I’d bet you can find something that will work wonderfully, that’s gone on clearance because the new seasonal colors have just come out.

Paper?

Some people choose to use blank copier paper, and print from their computers. Face it, not all of us have wonderfully beautimous handwriting.

Do you want hand crafted paper? Before you decide to spend $2 per page, (what most online occult shops are charging) Check the local crafts supply store, or, get creative, and try your hand at making your own paper!

Embellishments?

Oh, we all know that we’re all secretly dying to get to the part where we get to add the cute lil butterflies, fairies, and other obnoxiously cute things to our project.

Guess what! You can find quite a selection at the Dollar Store. Also, again check stores in the area for clearance items, there’s quite a bit of treasure to be found on that back end cap.

Writing Utensils and Fancy Scissors

Any die hard scrap booker is going to swear that you’ll need these items… Actually, the writing utensil does come in handy, unless you’re going to print the contents from the home computer… The scissors, just fun to have in case you want to stab the die hard scrap booker in the neck. (Just kidding. Telling you to do that would be wrong, and not exactly ‘Practical’)

These items can be found at local dollar stores, craft supply stores and office supply stores. Check staples, I bet you’ll get a great price for those uber fantastic purple gel pens!
