So the metamorphoses continues. One thing I’ve always really loved about the witchcraft community is that we often allow ourselves to transform- change our practices, alter our perceptions of the world and magic around us as we grow. This is not something fundamental to all religions or religious practices. A friend of mine who is über religious once told me that she felt like witchcraft was a dead end religious practice because there was no monotony, no stability to ground it. Not only is that not true for a lot of witches and traditions but I told her that the beauty in it all is that many of us allow our minds to be as wide open as we like and that letting wisdom rush in, no matter how it changes, is part of the great beauty of magic. We still disagree to this day, but I can see her point.
